Without the Earth, we would cease to exist. As such, it is important that we care for Mother Earth as she has put up with us slowly destroying her. There is a huge importance of caring for the environment. It is vital that we work together to care for each other and the Earth, as it benefits us all to be kind, caring, and accepting.

Working with students, it is important to demonstrate how we affect the Earth. A school garden contributes to the well-being and learning of the school community as it gives a hands-on experiential learning opportunity of caring for Earth and the community. The garden can have multiple purposes depending on what is grown (native plants, food, pollinator garden), but all necessitate the school working together to care for the garden to benefit all. We can explore caring for water as sustenance for all life in different ways. We can examine how water is necessary for life on Earth as we and other living things need to drink it to survive. We can examine the spiritual connection that water often carries. We can explore how waterways increase trade and travel which allows us to have more communication opportunities with others to hear from different perspectives. We can also look at how to care for the water as pollution spreads. We can make various connections between learning about the diversity of life and the ethical standard of Care. Life is very diverse, but by accepting each other's differences, we all live together. We cannot remove one aspect of life without collapse as everything is interconnected. As such, we need to care for everything, as every living being is important.

Considering the environmental impact of what you are doing, as well as thinking about what you can do to improve Mother Earth, are necessary parts of a conscientiously caring professional practice.
